Institute For Music and Worship, Aug. 26-30, 2009 Director: Dr. Mildred Fischle You will learn the Three S's: SKILLS: Developing correct pitch, breathing, range, diction, expression and tempo STYLES: Chant, Chorale, Traditional, Contemporary, Spiritual/multi-cultural, Taize SINGERS: Rehearsals, attitudes, recruitment, other The Music Camp will offer an opportunity to sing and ring handbells. There will be two tracks at camp, one for voice choirs and one for those who want to ring bells and chimes. Everyone will sign up for the voice choir portion and any persons wanting to add bells to their camp experience can do so. The voice choir will work on several anthems, perfect them, ready to be sung in local churches. In addition, there will be work on blending, diction, expression, and reviewing a cantata for use in the coming year. A variety of styles and instrumentation will be used. The handbell/chime strand will be based on the needs of the group. This is a great time to try ringing, but be careful, YOU MAY JUST GET "HOOKED" ON RINGING BELLS AND CHIMES! Campers will sign up for voice choir and choose to also do bell/chime ringing. The schdule will permit campers to do both.
